Situation

One of Europe's largest food retailers had decided to fundamentally restructure its organisation along agile principles, aiming to increase decision speed and structurally embed cross-functional collaboration.

The challenge: transitioning a complex matrix organisation with deeply embedded hierarchical structures and five parallel workstreams to a new operating model, without disrupting day-to-day operations. Absent tooling platforms, unclear role definitions, and a strong silo culture required a holistic transformation architecture.

Approach

1

Transformation Architecture: Four Building Blocks, One Framework

Development of a holistic transformation architecture comprising four structural building blocks: agile team structure, operating model, tooling platform and governance, complemented by a fifth overarching element for change and cultural transformation.

2

3

JIRA & Confluence: Platform & Processes
